Houselink & Mainstay is grateful to receive a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation Resilient Communities Fund to rebuild and recover from impacts of COVID-19.

Many of our participants have experienced isolation during the pandemic, and with limited access to cell phone and data plans, have been disconnected from the supports and services they need to thrive.

With the grant from OTF, we have been able to accelerate our Connect to Wellness campaign by hiring a project coordinator to oversee the distribution of cell phones to isolated individuals. So far, 100 cell phones have been purchased and activated with data plans, of which 44 have been distributed.

We have also purchased equipment for common spaces and meeting rooms to enable participants and tenants to connect to service providers or participate in groups. Next steps include obtaining tablets and conducting train-the-trainer workshops to ensure everyone has the skills to utilize this essential technology.
