We offer a comprehensive range of services
Isolation and poverty are the enemies of mental health. Houselink programs build the bridge from isolation to health, good nutrition, affordable entertainment and a community of peers. This year Houselink employed 117 participants in casual role – almost 1/4 of our resident population. We also served over 8,000 meals using fewer factory processed foods than ever before.
After 40 years, we cover the entire GTA
We own and manage 42 properties across the City of Toronto – from Scarborough to Etobicoke
Our Board are service users
Our Board of Directors is comprised of 6 members from our participant population and 6 members from the community at large. This representation ensures a balanced approach to governance issues
We advocate and educate to address homelessness
As a leader in the field, we promote the need for supportive housing. For the past 12 years, Houselink has sponsored the Dream Team: people with lived experience engaged in public speaking, research and advocacy to promote more quality supportive housing, ensure the tenant’s voice is central in all supportive housing issues, fight stigma and promote economic justice, inclusion and human rights.
Mental disorders can lead to homelessness, but they can also be caused by homelessness given the traumatic impact of being destitute and living on the streets.
